Alumni Essentials: week of February 2

January has come and gone. Our furry forecaster has called for six more weeks of winter. The Seattle Seahawks felt the wrath of North America’s bicycle lobby. But good journalism lives on! (Courtesy of former Review writers). Here’s some of our favourites from the past few weeks:

First up, Spring 2004 editor Megan Griffith-Greene and the CBC Marketplace team’s months-long investigation found that nobody really knows how often pharmacists screw up.

Next, Spring 2009 blog editor John Michael McGrath has a habit of writing some intelligent blog posts, and over the past month they’ve been about immigration. School yourself on express entry in Canada, what it could mean for Ontario and where new Canadians are sending their money.

Finally, Summer 2007 senior editor Joe Rayment caught some Canadians at their most stereotypical: using lake Ontario as an ice rink.

That’s it for this week. Got anything that should be on here? Email the blog editor. And please, please, please follow the Review and its masthead on Twitter. Or don’t, we don’t need you. (Yes we do).
